It has been reported that if Browns’ QB Deshaun Watson is suspended for longer than six games, Cleveland may consider trading for Jimmy Garoppolo in place of him.

Back in March, the Browns traded for Deshaun Watson from the Texans, which sounds like a good idea. But, the problem is that Watson has been accused by 24 different women of sexual assault. All but one of the cases have been settled, and Watson is facing a suspension.
Watson was already given a six-game suspension in a disciplinary hearing, but NFL commissioner Roger Goodell wasn’t a big fan of the ruling. So, he decided that the NFL would appeal the six-game suspension.
Goodell has appointed a judge to hear the appeal and the decision is expected this week.

This is a difficult situation for the Browns with them possibly losing out on their star quarterback. So, they may have to go out and trade for a new quarterback for this season.
Should the Browns Get Jimmy Garoppolo?
There’s been a few ideas of who the Browns can acquire, but Jimmy Garoppolo makes the most sense. It’s not confirmed that the Browns are interested, but they are probably going to wait and see what happens with Watson.
It has already been made clear that Jimmy Garoppolo will not be the starter for the 49ers. Instead, they are going to give the starting job to Trey Lance.
Garoppolo is heading into the final year of his contract, and that could be a good thing for the Browns. The only thing that isn’t good for the Browns is how much Garoppolo is being paid. He’s making around $24 million, and the 49ers will most likely not absorb some of his salary. He could take a pay cut, though.
Even though he is an expensive player, the Browns should acquire him if Watson’s suspension is longer. They have too much talent to not go after a good quarterback.
