The Missouri Tigers are putting the SEC on notice. The program has continued to land top talent out of the transfer portal after finishing the 2023 season in the top 10 of the College Football Playoff rankings. They struck gold again when former Florida Gator DL Chris McClellan committed to the program.

Missouri Tigers Land DL Chris McClellan
“I felt as if they are going to put me in the best position to make me successful and develop me over the next 2 years,” McClellan said about the commitment. In his two years in Gainesville, he logged 46 tackles with 3.5 for loss, two sacks, and one fumble recovery. He brings a veteran presence to the Tigers as he logged 564 total defensive snaps as a Gator. It is yet another big piece that the Tigers will have going into 2024.
Top 20 Class
While there are definitely schools that have had a better time in the transfer portal, the Tigers still have a top 20 class according to 247. They have gone for quality over quantity. Missouri also doesn’t need to completely overhaul the roster. They have a great foundation from the success in 2023 and simply needed to land some top-tier talent to push the roster over the edge. It will be interesting to see where Missouri lands in the preseason rankings with all the upgrades they have made to the roster.
Can the Missouri Tigers compete in the SEC? They are making sure that they are at least in the conversation once the 2024 season rolls around.
