The 49ers dealt with numerous injuries late in the 2023 season, so they know they can’t add enough veterans for the upcoming season. They made sure to improve their offensive line with a player who should compete to be a swing tackle in training camp.
Chris Hubbard is signing with the 49ers
According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the 49ers signed offensive tackle Chris Hubbard to a one-year deal worth $1.375 million.The #49ers have signed FA OT Chris Hubbard to a 1-year, $1.375M deal, source said. Added veteran depth.

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed Hubbard as an undrafted free agent before the 2013 season. He’s also played for the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans. During his ten-year NFL career, he’s started 58 games and appeared in 94.
Per Pro Football Focus, Hubbard earned a 69.0 overall grade for his play last season. He played in 473 snaps. He gave up four sacks in 292 passing snaps. He played all but one of his snaps as a right tackle for the Titans last season.
