The Minnesota Vikings suffered a huge loss in their week eight matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Franchise quarterback Kirk Cousins suffered a torn Achilles which has taken him out for the rest of the 2023 season. However, a proposal by Bleacher Report suggests a decent option for the Vikings to fill the void at the quarterback position.
Available free agent quarterbacks the #Vikings could look into:
• Carson Wentz
• Matt Ryan
• Colt McCoy (met with Minnesota recently)
• Joe Flacco
• Phillip Rivers

Minnesota Vikings Quarterback Issues
Minnesota will have to roll with quarterback Jaren Hall as their starter for the remainder of the season if the team does not make a move to bring in a quarterback quickly. Although Carson Wentz does not have the best reputation, he would certainly be the best option for the team if they plan to make a run for the playoffs.
If Minnesota does not want to go for Wentz, another good option for them would be to pursue Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill is in jeopardy of losing his position as the starter for Tennessee after rookie Will Levis put on a show in last week’s win over the Atlanta Falcons. However, the price for Tannehill would be much higher than if the Vikings pursued Wentz.
Carson Wentz Impact
Wentz has been a free agent the entire 2023 season which could motivate him to shine wherever he ends up. He has amounted to 22,129 passing yards and 151 touchdowns since joining the league in 2016. He was on pace to be the unanimous MVP of the league in 2018 but suffered an injury that took him out for the rest of the season. Since then, he has not been the same player.
The Vikings are currently sitting at a 4-4 record after starting the year 1-4. They have been trending in the right direction aside from the devastating injuries their two-star players Justin Jefferson and Kirk Cousins have suffered. With Cousins done for the year, Minnesota desperately needs help at the quarterback position if they plan to compete for a spot in the postseason.
