Michigan has had a rough two days in the transfer portal, and it has only gotten worse on Thursday when they saw two more big-time players hit the portal.
Michigan Loses DJ Waller This Week
On Wednesday, Michigan saw one of their top cornerbacks, DJ Waller, enter the portal when he was supposed to come for a starting job this season.
The Wolverines have the best cornerback in the country, Will Johnson. When following April roles around, he will most likely be the first cornerback off the board in the NFL Draft, but even though Johnson is a star, he has no running mate right now to start on the other side of him at corner, and Waller could’ve been that guy, but he decided to leave.
The Wolverines Also Saw A True Freshman Leave
Another player who hit the portal this week on the defensive side of the ball was true freshman linebacker Jeremiah Beasley. The freshman linebacker arrived on campus three months ago and was one of the best players in the 2024 class, but after three months in Ann Arbor, he left. Also, another big name hit the portal on Thursday, but this time on offense.
Offensive Tackle Amir Herring Is Ending To The Portal
Herring was ranked as the 26th-best inside offensive lineman in the 2022 class by 247sport.com. His appearance in one game in 2023 earned him his first varsity letter.
Michigan second-year offensive lineman Amir Herring is expected to enter the transfer portal, a source tells @247Sports.

Herring would’ve most likely been a backup again this season, and that’s probably the main reason he decided to leave the program.
