The Michigan Wolverines have to figure out how to recruit without Jim Harbaugh. He was a magnetic personality for many players and their families. However, the new head coach, Sherrone Moore, is a good recruiter and has brought in Greg Scruggs and Brian Jean-Mary as positional coaches. Both of them have a track record of being great recruiters. 2025 linebacker Luke Metz recently met with Jean-Mary and had some positive things to say.

Metz is a 6-foot-3, 220-pound linebacker from Georgia. The highly coveted player already has a crystal ball for Ole Miss, but that isn’t stopping Michigan. While he hasn’t considered the Wolverines in the past, his recent visit with Jean-Mary is making him rethink the program. “A ton more interested (in Michigan with Coach BJ there)! Relationships are huge for me!” he said after the visit. It seems Michigan isn’t losing any steam on the recruiting trail.
Michigan’s 2025 Class So Far
According to On3, Michigan currently ranks 16th in the nation’s class. The biggest prize is four-star quarterback Carter Smith out of Florida. He joins defensive lineman Bobby Kanka and tight end Eli Owens in the class so far. Obviously, it is early, and these rankings will fluctuate wildly in the next year or so, but the Wolverines hope the addition of some strong recruiters will help them nab some top recruits.
The Michigan Wolverines aren’t going anywhere. The transition to the new coaching staff has been smooth, and they will continue to be contenders in the Big Ten.
