The Michigan Wolverines have had their recruiting problems in the past. However, in recent months they have had some big wins. Those wins continued on Saturday when a big name recruit came to visit. Michigan impressed five star recruit Jadyn Davis during his visit on Saturday.
Who Is Jadyn Davis?
Jadyn Davis is a five star quarterback prospect out of Charlotte, NC. Part of the 2024 class, he possess elite skills in footwork, pocket presence and athleticism. He is viewed by many to be way ahead of the curve in terms of skill making him a tantalizing prospect for any coaching staff. The list of schools recruiting him shows what people think of his skill. In addition to Michigan, Alabama, Clemson and Georgia are all attempting to land the five star recruit. This is Davis’ third visit to Ann Arbor and this one may have helped seal the deal for Michigan.
Stroke Of Genius By Harbaugh
Davis was on the sidelines for the game against Hawaii. This just so happened to be the game where five star recruit JJ McCarthy was making his start. McCarthy had an excellent game and the Michigan offense looked unstoppable. Essentially, Davis got to see a young talented quarterback win the no. 1 job because of his talent. For a young prospect who wants to play right away, this is good news. I don’t think it was an accident that Harbaugh had him come for this game.
Not A Done Deal For Michigan & The Five Star Recruit
Everything has been good up until this point. Davis had a good visit. His family had a good visit. Davis’ younger brother got to shake hands with head basketball coach Juwan Howard. If this was any other recruit, Michigan would be solidly in the lead. However, because he is from the south, the SEC is always in play. No on wants to count out Alabama, Clemson or Georgia. Michigan clearly seems to be in the lead and that might cause the other programs to look to other recruits but one never knows.
Harbaugh and his staff are doing everything right with Davis. In order to compete in football, you need a quarterback. Landing Davis could help set up the Wolverines for the future at the position. At this point, Michigan has to hope they did enough to land the five star recruit.
