The Cleveland Browns made a drastic trade on Tuesday when they traded away wide receiver Amari Cooper and a 2025 sixth-round pick to the Buffalo Bills for a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick. This was a very good day for the Bills and a sad day for the Browns fanbase.
Buffalo gets its number one wide receiver after they traded away wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans in the offseason. This could be the beginning of a potential firesale for the Cleveland Browns before the NFL trade deadline begins.
Cleveland Browns Fans Upset They Traded Amari Cooper To the Buffalo Bills
The Browns fanbase had every right to be upset that they traded Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills. They wish that quarterback Deshaun Watson was traded instead. They felt like Watson’s poor performances were the reason why Cooper was not with the team anymore. Here is what Cleveland fans had to say on Twitter about it:
Release Deshaun Watson immediately

Yall are disgusting . Traded away our best receiver we’ve ever had cause of this garage fire QB. SMH. Now Jerry WR1

I’d trade Watson for a plank of wood, ten cents, and a krabby patty meal at Wendy’s at this point.

Cooper to the Bills is a great fit—can’t wait to see how he performs!..

There is no doubt that the Browns will be trading more players after the Amari Cooper trade. However, it most likely will not be Deshaun Watson because his contract is untradeable at this point which is a very sad thing for them.
Next Matchup Against the Cincinnati Bengals
The Browns are 1-5 this season and they will face the Cincinnati Bengals 2-4 this weekend. With Cleveland trading Cooper to Buffalo, Elijah Moore, and Jerry Jeudy will be the top two wide receivers for Cleveland moving forward.
It will not get any better for Cleveland’s offense trading away Amari Cooper. He caught 24 passes for 250 yards receiving and two touchdowns, along with averaging 10.4 yards per reception.

With the recent Cleveland trade it reminds me of the original Browns trade of Paul Warfield to Miami in 1972
