The Oregon Ducks have defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes once again, which brings back nightmares to some from the time before.
The Ducks defeated the visiting Buckeyes, 32-31, in a thrilling game that ended in quite the controversy. Ohio State quarterback Will Howard chose to slide and attempt to call a timeout as time was expiring in an attempt to secure a game-winning field goal try. However, Howard was not able to call the timeout in time, and time expired shortly after the slide.
The unfortunate error on the part of Howard solidified the win for the Ducks, and the fans quickly rushed the field to celebrate the win. Oregon also propelled themselves ahead of the Buckeyes in the rankings after the now crucial Big Ten Conference win. With the win, many believe the Ducks could win the conference during their first season as a member.
However, many Oregon Ducks fans are also worried, as the last time the Ducks defeated Ohio State an unfortunate loss followed. The Ducks are 2-9 historically against the Buckeyes, defeating the team last in 2021 in Columbus, 35-28. Shortly after, the Ducks lost to the Stanford Cardinal in overtime to snap their undefeated streak.
The loss led to the Utah Utes having home field advantage in the Pac-12 Conference Championship, which the Ducks eventually would lose. Despite a five-game win streak after the loss, many Ducks fans believe the team was never truly the same after losing to Stanford in overtime. The loss caused a massive deflation in the morale of the team moving forward.

The Ducks are scheduled to play against the Purdue Boilermakers this weekend, who have been notably awful on offense this season. The Boilermakers had their best game last weekend on offense after firing the offensive coordinator. Purdue could be in prime position to upset the Ducks in a major way if history does in fact repeat itself.
Can the Oregon Ducks Handle Business Against the Purdue Boilermakers?
With the win behind them now, the Oregon Ducks will have to focus on the upcoming game against Purdue as they might not be an opponent to look past.
Purdue has a team with talented players at various skill positions, but not necessarily enough talent across the board yet. The Boilermakers can, however, shock a team and manage to put up more points than what the opponents believed to be possible.
While some Oregon Ducks fans seem very worried about the upcoming game against the Purdue Boilermakers, many others point out the coaching change that has happened since the Stanford loss.
Mario ain’t on that sideline my guy, I think Dan will have them focused

Granted, but injuries and a missing OC, etc were more to blame than anything.🤔💯
