After suffering a knee injury in training camp, cornerback Jalen Ramsey was optimistic for a speedy recovery and quick return to make his Miami Dolphins debut. Fast forward three months and Ramsey is set to make his season debut against the New England Patriots on Sunday.

Dolphins’ Cornerback Injury Comeback
The rate of recovery at which the All-Pro cornerback has been able to achieve is remarkable. Ramsey suffered a torn meniscus back before the season even started, which required surgery that he had in July. He spent the first seven weeks of the season on injured reserve, but his 21-day activation window opened on Oct,. 18, so when asked on Thursday if he was going to play against the Patriots, Ramsey said there was a “chance” that he would be suiting up.
Not only is it his season debut, but it’s also his debut with the Dolphins. He was acquired via trade early in this past offseason from the Los Angeles Rams. Head coach Mike McDaniel was a little hesitant at first when asked about Ramsey’s status for Sunday, but he told media that he wants to exercise some caution when it comes to Ramsey coming into action.
Jalen Ramsey finished his 2022 season with 88 total tackles, 18 pass deflections, two sacks, and four interceptions. For a team that’s already NFL’s No. 1 ranked offense in scoring, passing yards, and rushing yards, adding Ramsey to that mix is just doing to be lethal for contenders.
The Dolphins are looking to bounce back from a rather disappointing loss against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7 and with one of the most-feared cornerbacks making his debut, Miami’s high-powered offense is going to be a challenge for the struggling New England Patriots.
In a corresponding move to activating Ramsey, the Dolphins have released veteran cornerback Parry Nickerson. The team will still be without Jevon Holland, who’s been officially ruled out with a concussion, and CBs Xavien Howard (groin), and Nik Needham (Achilles) have been listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup.
The Dolphins will sport the throwback threads as they take on Mac Jones and the Patriots with a kick off scheduled for 12PM.
