The Detroit Lions went from bad to worse from the 2020-2021 season to the 2021-2022 season. However, there was one illuminating star shining in the distance. For fantasy football team owners out there don’t pass up on Amon-Ra St. Brown.
Who is Amon-Ra?
St. Brown, a rookie drafted in the 4th round of the 2021 NFL draft from USC, put together a solid season after having a slow start. The rookie led the Lions in receptions and receiving yards with 90 receptions and 912 receiving yards. St. Brown, in his first 8 games of the season had 27 receptions for 250 yards. St. Brown blew up in his last 9 games of the season with 64 receptions and 662 yards.
The Lions have not added any notable receiver this offseason outside of D. J. Chark, so we can safely assume the Lions are confident that St. Brown can be their WR1. St. Brown wasn’t originally supposed to be the Lions WR1 in the 2020-2021 NFL season, but the Lions were lacking firepower in the wide receiver position and St. Brown accepted the challenge and had plenty of success.
What to expect next?
After thoroughly analyzing St. Brown, It’s safe to say that he will improve in the upcoming 2022-2023 NFL season. If St. Brown plays all 17 games then he should be able to hull in 108 catches, 1,306 yards, and 7 receiving touchdowns. He should be a relatively safe option in the 3rd round of a fantasy draft or in any later rounds.
St. Brown is looking to strike with more ambition this upcoming season. St. Brown will take on the challenge of being the Lions WR1 again in the 2022-2023 NFL season and that alone should be enough to convince people to draft Amon-Ra St. Brown.
