The NFL Scouting Combine will begin this week with interviews and testing. Prospects in this year’s draft have to decide whether they want to test on front of scouts or hold out to avoid injury and just schedule interviews. One of LSU’s top prospects has decided to avoid the opportunity and take care of his health ahead of this year’s draft.
LSU WR Malik Nabers Will Not Run or Test During NFL Combine
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport, Malik Nabers will not be testing in front of scouts this week during the NFL Combine. However, Nabers will be in Indianapolis for interviews and be testing during his Pro Day on March 27th. The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman previously reported that Nabers may not work out during the combine and those reports have been confirmed.
Considered as one of the top prospects in this year’s draft along with his quarterback and Heisman trophy winner Jayden Daniels, Nabers is projected to be the 2nd receiver off the board after Ohio State’s superstar Marvin Harrison Jr. Who is the number one overall ranked player on Bleacher Report’s big board.
Nabers Broke the Record for Most Receiving Yards in LSU History
After catching 89 passes for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns in his senior season, Nabers broke the record for most receiving yards in history by an LSU receiver with 3,003 yards. Surpassing the previous record of 3,001 yards by Josh Reed back in 2001.
LSU has produced some elite talent over the past few years at wide receiver. Including Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase, Odell Beckham Jr, Jarvis Landry and even more. Nabers has the opportunity to be the next man in line and will most likely hear his name called on day 1 of this year’s draft.
