LSU adds another commitment to what is shaping out to be an impressive 2023 recruiting class. The latest commitment gives the Tigers its eight commitment in the last nine days. Whit Weeks, the 6-foot-2, 215-pound prospect selected the Tigers over Georgia, Oklahoma, Stanford, USC, Tennessee and many others.
“My official visit is what sealed the deal. I didn’t want to go home after that weekend, and that made me realize that LSU was the place for me.”
Weeks is the younger brother of linebacker West Weeks, a transfer linebacker from Virginia, who transferred to LSU in January.
“West is just as excited as I am. It’s going to be awesome to share the field with him again.”
Weeks, an Oconee County High School product, is the No. 51 linebacker according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He finished his junior season with 134 total tackles, which included 42 solo tackles. Weeks also plays running back and returns kicks for Oconee County.
Weeks gives the Tigers its first linebacker commitment of the ’23 recruiting class as defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Matt House continues to build the future of the Tiger defense. With the recent surge of commitments in the past week the Tigers currently sit No. 7 overall in the 2023 Consensus Football Team Recruiting Rankings.
