It continues to be the Brian Kelly takeover in the month of July as LSU adds their second running back commitment for the ’23 recruiting class. Kaleb Jackson announced his commitment to LSU on Tuesday morning. The four-star senior running back chose the the Tigers over offers from Alabama, Texas A&M and several others. The Baton Rouge native had a strong relationship with running backs coach, Frank Wilson:
“It was the relationship that I built with the coaches, ” Jackson said. “It feels like home there, I belong there. They showed love from the beginning to the end.”
Jackson, a 5-foot-10, 200-pound running back is the No. 12 recruit in Louisiana according to 247Sport Composite ranks as the 192nd overall recruit in the 2023 class. The Liberty Magnet product finished the 2021 season with 2,031 yards on 138 carries with 29 touchdowns. He added 21 receptions for 394 yards and four scores. He was also named to the Class 4A All-State first team after his 2021 campaign.
Brian Kelly now has 11 commitments for the 2023 and 2024 classes since the beginning of July. According to 247sports, landing Jackson moved LSU up a spot to the seventh overall in the 2023 class rankings. The 2023 recruiting class for the Tigers comprises of 15 total prospects committed. 11 of those being rated four stars or higher.
