The Los Angeles Rams were able to walk away with a strong 30-22 home win on Thursday Night Football against the New Orleans Saints. However, the biggest story seems to be with a different team in the same city as the Rams as the Los Angeles Dodgers announced they signed starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto to a record 12-year/$325 million contract.
The Rams welcomed the signing by posting on social media a Los Angeles Rams #18 jersey with Yamamoto’s name on it. This is after the team gifted Dodgers two-way player Shohei Ohtani a custom jersey before the game.

This is a huge signing for the Los Angeles Dodgers and great by the Los Angeles Rams to be included in welcoming the Japanese starting pitcher.
How far can the Los Angeles Rams go this season?
The Los Angeles Rams have been playing extremely well as they have won five of their last six games to get to 8-7. After a terrible start, this Rams team is beginning to look like a solid playoff team that some of the divisional winners are going to want to avoid.
This offense has shown the ability to dominate with a veteran quarterback in Matthew Stafford. He has been playing well as after this game, he is 302-of-491 (61.5 completion percentage for 3,654 yards with 21 passing touchdowns to nine interceptions while rushing 22 times for 81 yards (3.7 yards per attempt).
Not only that but they have a pair of potential Pro Bowl wide receivers in Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. With an offensive line that is keeping the quarterback upright and making sure things easier with coach Sean McVay being one of the best offensive minds in the entire sport.
Their defense is also holding up as they they are giving up 22.1 points per game throughout the season. While that is in the bottom half of the league, they are beginning to do better and that number allows them to remain in the game. With an 8-7 record, they hold tiebreakers over the Seattle Seahawks and that puts them in the driver’s seat.
The Los Angeles Rams finish up the regular season with a Week 17 matchup against the New York Giants and Week 18 against the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners may just rest players as there is a chance they lock up the top seed in the conference before that game. This Rams team is going to be scary in the postseason to go up against and can make it as far as the NFC Championship Game depending how the bracket winds up looking.
