The Los Angeles Rams had a rough season in 2022 mostly due to injuries. Once quarterback Matthew Stafford went down with a season-ending injury, the season was pretty much lost. Many speculated that he could retire depending on the severity of the injury but it looks like he will play in 2023. At voluntary workouts, Stafford talked about how he was feeling going into 2023.

Los Angeles Rams Matthew Stafford Feeling “Refreshed”
“I’m not 25, but I definitely feel good,” Stafford joked with the media. After half a season off and extensive rehab, the quarterback is feeling good. His injuries were scary ones. Concussion symptoms and spine problems can spell the end of a career but he is feeling fully healthy now. He is ready to play and has been throwing with receivers in the offseason. “(I’m) not probably a human JUGS machine like I used to be, but can still get it out there and throw it around a bunch,” he quipped. If nothing else, Stafford seems in high spirits heading into 2023.

Expectations For The Rams This Season
This team is a real wild card in 2023. They are very thin, especially after trading Jalen Ramsey. However, the top end still has elite talent. Aaron Donald is still a force on the defensive line. Cooper Kupp is one of the top receivers in the game. The issue stems from the players lower on the depth chart. Los Angeles does not have the draft capital to infuse young talent into the roster and must rely on who they have. However, in a weak NFC, the Rams could win more games than expected but I don’t think will be anywhere near sniffing the playoffs.
Matthew Stafford is a really likable guy and it is great to see him back feeling good for 2023. Watching the Rams last year was painful and it will be interesting to see what kind of season they have in 2023.
