The Los Angeles Rams have an update on Matthew Stafford
The Rams were without quarterback Matthew Stafford after Week 11 of last season. Stafford was placed on injured reserve with a spinal cord contusion toward the end of a difficult season for the Rams. The team was reportedly interested in trading Stafford this offseason. But the Rams never found a partner before his $57 million was guaranteed for next season. The Rams gave an update on Stafford’s status Tuesday.
According to Nick Shook of the NFL, head coach Sean McVay updated reporters on Stafford’s status for the offseason. McVay said Stafford is ready to participate in workouts this spring:
“Sean McVay told reporters Tuesday quarterback Matthew Stafford will be able to fully participate in the 2023 offseason.
“There will be no limitations,” McVay said of Stafford at the Annual League Meeting in Phoenix. “He’ll be ready to roll.”
This should be a welcome development for the Rams if Stafford can stay healthy. He was excellent in the 2021 season when he led the Rams to their Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
