The Los Angeles Rams have unsurprisingly elevated a running back off the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s tilt against the Dallas Cowboys. Last week’s lead back, Darrell Henderson Jr., has been activated from the practice squad and will play in Week 8.

Los Angeles Rams RB Darrell Henderson Jr.: Returned to the NFL Last Sunday
Henderson Jr. inked a deal with the Rams in the middle of October after starting RB Kyren Williams went down with an injury. Williams and backup RB Ronnie Rivers are currently on injured reserve (IR). Henderson ran 18 times for 61 yards and a touchdown in his season debut last Sunday. He also caught one of two targets for five yards.
Darrell Henderson Jr.: NFL Career
The Los Angeles Rams drafted Darrell Henderson Jr. in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft. He struggled as a rookie, rushing just 39 times for 147 yards and no touchdowns while playing behind Todd Gurley and Malcolm Brown. The Memphis product played better during the next two seasons, averaging 4.6 yards per rush attempt and scoring ten times. He was also a member of the 2021 team that won the Super Bowl but played sparingly in the playoffs. Henderson Jr. averaged just 4.0 yards per rush attempt in ten games during the 2022 season before being waived. He signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars but was released shortly after.
Henderson Jr. rejoined the Rams this season after injuries decimated their RB room. Los Angeles also used Royce Freeman last Sunday. The former Denver Bronco ran 12 times for 66 yards.
