The Buffalo Bills made a surprise move Tuesday afternoon when they announced they were parting ways with a fan-favorite running back. The move comes days away from the Bills matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round.
As Tony Romo was tirelessly repeating himself during the CBS broadcast of the Bills’ win over the Pittsburgh Steelers Monday afternoon, Buffalo is expected to feature the running game more than in the past this postseason with running back James Cook.
The Bills must feel secure with a running back trio of Cook, Ty Johnson, and Latavius Murray because, per Field Yates of ESPN, the team cut Leonard Fournette from the practice squad Tuesday.

The former first-round pick played in two games for the Bills this season. He finished with 12 carries for 40 yards rushing. The Bills cut Fournette in the same week he’d play a Chiefs team he ran all over en route to winning Super Bowl LV.
Buffalo Bills fans reacted to the team cutting Fournette
Some Bills fans didn’t understand the move to cut Fournette and keep Murray. Here are the best takes of fans reacting to “Playoff Lenny” being cut on Tuesday.

I’d rather have Lenny than Murray. Watching the games, granted we haven’t seen Fournette at all, Murray just is washed up and old now. Doesn’t seem to be breaking tackles like he once did.
