Former Las Vegas Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels was fired from the team immediately following the NFL trade deadline. Since then, he has received some serious criticism from the players, with one player even calling him “clueless.” Along with the firing of McDaniels, general manager Dave Ziegler was also let go by Las Vegas.

Josh McDaniels Criticism
The Raiders fired McDaniels after just 25 games into his six-year contract with the team, which he lost 16 of them. The team cutting ties did not stop there either, as they also gave general manager Dave Ziegler and other staff members the boot. This made the linebackers coach Antonio Pierce the interim head coach, which the players seemed to be ecstatic about.
Following the firing of the former head coach, several shocking stories emerged about him, which showed just how much of a problem he was in that locker room. He was such a huge problem that even the players and coaches had a team meeting and ripped into McDaniels.
Here are some of the reports that came in, shedding light on the situation:
McDaniels called his kids back home from trick-or-treating during Halloween to tell them that he had been fired. He reportedly traded away a player from the team because his wife found him attractive. He also lacked people skills and he pushed the signing of Jimmy Garoppolo to a huge contract even though his general manager said it was a horrible idea.
Las Vegas Raiders Players Comment
Some Raiders players, who remained anonymous, gave some insight into what they thought about him, saying things like McDaniels lived in his “own bubble” and he was “clueless.” Here is a quote from one of the players:
“I don’t think he knew how unhappy [and] how miserable it was. No one was having any fun I personally think he had no clue what it was like because he lives in his own bubble, his process, and it wasn’t working.”
Another player said, “[Josh] never left the building. I don’t hate him, I like Josh, but I don’t think he was tone deaf, I think he was clueless.”
This situation does not look good for McDaniels, and he has received a lot of hate and criticism because of it. This will certainly hurt any hope or chances for him to be a head coach for another team in the future, and he is likely finished.
