The Las Vegas Raiders have been making big moves on the first day of the legal tampering period of free agency. They have already signed star defender Christian Wilkins to a massive four-year, $110 million deal with $84.75 million guaranteed, marking it as the largest deal agreed to so far this offseason. While the addition to the defensive line will be huge, the team arguably suffered a bigger loss in free agency, as one of their offensive superstars has officially agreed to sign with a new team.
Las Vegas Raiders Lose Superstar
The Raiders have lost star running back Josh Jacobs to the open market after he agreed to sign with the Green Bay Packers. This move took the NFL world by storm as no one saw the Packers as a threat to sign the superstar, especially after it was reported that he and Las Vegas were trying to strike a deal.

Josh Jacobs Career
Since joining the league in 2019, Jacobs has amounted to 5,545 rushing yards on 1,305 carries for 46 touchdowns, and has been one the top running backs in the NFL. He has three seasons with over 1,000 yards on the ground, making him one of the most sought-after names on the open market. Several rumors speculated that Jacobs would leave the Raiders this offseason, but not many people expected him to go to Green Bay.
Las Vegas Raiders Fans React
Raiders fans took over social media to show their appreciation for Jacobs’ time with the team, and most of them were understanding of the move as the superstar was seeking a record-breaking deal to remain in Las Vegas. Here are some of the reactions from the Raiders nation on social media:

It's sad how many Raiders fans turned on Jacobs considering how damn good he was with the Raiders and carried the team to wins plenty of times. Dude just never had a QB.

With Jacobs now gone, the Raiders will likely pursue another running back as free agency continues throughout the week. Do you think the Raiders should have kept the superstar running back, or did they make the right move to save money?
