Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers does not remember getting knocked out during his team’s Week 1 victory over the Denver Broncos. The 26-year-old had to exit the game and was unable to return following a hard hit from Broncos safety Kareem Jackson. It was a pretty violent-looking tackle, to say the least, which led to Jackson getting penalized for unnecessary roughness.
Las Vegas Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers Suffers Head Injury in Week 1
Meyers was integral to Las Vegas’ hard-fought victory against Denver. He caught two touchdowns in the game before he was forced to exit with a scary head injury, which was later diagnosed as a concussion.

As indicated in the tweet above, Jackson was fined more than $14,000 for the hit, which caused Meyers to miss the Raiders‘ 38-10 Week 2 loss against the Buffalo Bills.
For what it’s worth, Jackson is in trouble again after another controversial hit during Sunday’s 35-33 loss against the Washington Commanders. The Broncos safety was in the middle of yet another contentious moment in the game that saw Washington TE Logan Thomas hit the deck right after a touchdown catch:

At the moment, there is still no word on whether or not Kareem Jackson will be slapped with any retroactive sanction because of his hit on Thomas.
Jakobi Meyers Keeping No Grudges
For his part, however, Jakobi Meyers has decided to take a high-road approach. When asked to share his thoughts on the head injury he sustained because of Jackson’s hit, the Raiders WR gave a pretty unexpected response:
“I mean, I understand the game I signed up for,” said Meyers, via Paul Gutierrez of ESPN. “So we try and go out there and make plays. We’ve got to protect ourselves at all times and do what we can best.”
You love to hear it. Instead of jumping on the Kareem Jackson hate train, Meyers opted to play down his injury, thereby relieving some of the pressure that has been piled upon the Broncos safety.
The good news for Las Vegas is that Meyers was a full participant in Thursday’s practice after being cleared from the league’s concussion protocol. He is now on track to return to action on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.
