Kellen Moore praised Mike McCarthy
Former Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and Mike McCarthy mutually chose to part ways this offseason. Moore quickly found employment with the Los Angeles Chargers. McCarthy is choosing to call the offensive plays in Dallas next season.

McCarthy was critical of Moore’s playcalling this week at the NFL Scouting Combine. McCarthy said he was more interested in running the ball, even if the Cowboys lost out on offensive production, as the money the Cowboys spend on their elite defense can be kept sitting on the sideline for more extended periods of game time.

Todd Archer with ESPN spoke with Moore recently. Moore praised McCarthy for helping him learn about coaching an NFL offense:
“It was really fun just to go through the process of merging worlds. I think that was such a fun process. There’s just so many little things as you go through game plans and gamedays as you’re calling the game, just being able to have those conversations about different ways you can go, different paths you can take, he was really a great sounding board for me.”
Kellen Moore expressed gratitude for being able to work with Mike McCarthy the last three seasons. (Fixed earlier tweet). pic.twitter.com/ylSXnyRAa9

Moore will have a chance to light up the scoreboard with Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert. The team should have an exciting offense next season. We’ll see if Moore can help out a Chargers defense that is less elite than the Cowboys.
