Not only did the Kansas City Chiefs repeat as Super Bowl Champions, but star tight end Travis Kelce‘s relationship with popstar Taylor Swift brought the NFL over $331 million in extra revenue. Super Bowl LVIII was the most-watched in NFL history, thanks in large part to the number of new Swifty fans that their relationship brought to the league.
For weeks, the two stars’ relationship has been under the microscope. Now that Kelce has entered his offseason, it will be even more so. So much so that alleged rules Swift has for their relationship are starting to become public knowledge.
Taylor Swift Reportedly Wasn’t Happy with Kansas City Chiefs Star Travis Kelce’s Antics at the Super Bowl Parade
Kelce was noticeably intoxicated at the Super Bowl parade. According to a report on Yahoo, that didn’t go over to well with his billionaire girlfriend:
“While Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift, enjoyed hours of drinking alongside him as they partied at multiple nightclubs after the big game in Las Vegas on February 11, friends believe that his parade antics ventured into cringe territory. ‘He should have reined it in a little bit,” explains a source, who exclusively tells Life & Style Trav’s boozed-up behavior isn’t all the pop star is looking to change.'”
Note: this is not coming straight from Swift herself, and the sources alluded to are just listed as “friends.” For all anyone knows, these are not real sources, friends, or the so-called friends are making it up. As the report notes, Swift herself spent hours drinking and clubbing with Kelce and other Chiefs players after the Super Bowl.
As for his parade antics, they should remind fans of his own brother’s shirtless escapades in Buffalo. If Swift had a problem with Kelce’s drinking while celebrating, one would think she would have made a comment then, even though it was his brother and not him.
Also, don’t forget Swift herself shot-gunned a beer while the camera was on her at the Super Bowl.
Now, about those rules…
Taylor Swift’s Apparent Rules for Kansas City Chiefs Star Travis Kelce
According to the same Yahoo report:
For example, Travis — who’s talked about past visits to adult-entertainment venues on his “New Heights” podcast and wore a Crazy Horse 3 Las Vegas shirt to a November football game — “is fine not going to strip clubs anymore (that’s one of her hard rules), but Taylor also doesn’t want him posing for photographs with female fans, mostly to avoid inaccurate headlines,” explains the source. “He had to roll his eyes at that one.”
“Friends claim that Taylor has asked Travis to FaceTime her, not just text, when they’re apart,” shares the source, noting that “she didn’t overtly say it, but she secretly wants to see where he is and who he’s with. Taylor’s a good judge of character and fears that some of his buddies are red flags.”
“Though she admits she’s no fashionista, Taylor’s splashed out $500,000 to help Travis dress better,” alleges the source, pointing out that the singer’s own Super Bowl look, alone, cost over $60K.
“She loves that he likes to take chances with his style choices, but some of his outfits have been suspect. He’s at an all-new fame level, so stepping it up with designer duds is just part of the deal. Taylor says she’s not changing him — it’s an evolution.”
Well, the no strip clubs thing certainly makes sense. The photographs boundary makes sense, too, given how scrutinized they are. However, his reaction to the boundary may or may not be true.
Since Swift and Kelce often are thousands of miles apart and don’t see each other for days or weeks at a time, FaceTiming instead of texting when they have time to communicate also makes sense. It’s not like they would never text. But setting aside time for face-to-face communication is important in any relationship.
Finally, what guy has not benefited from a girl he dates having a better fashion sense than he does? This last “rule” isn’t even a rule. It’s something that I think most guys reading this can relate to (although on a much more cost-friendly scale).
They’re dating; they have boundaries and rules within their relationship like everyone else.
