The Kansas City Chiefs’ defensive line deserves credit for how dominant their defense was last season.
The team hopes to bring every starting defensive lineman back for another season. George Karlaftis is under contract, Mike Danna is an unrestricted free agent, Chris Jones signed an extension, and their other defensive tackle agreed to a one-year extension.
The Kansas City Chiefs re-signed their DT to an extension
Kansas City re-signed Derrick Nnadi to a 1-year, $2 million contract extension.
Kansas City drafted Nnadi in the 3rd round, 75th overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, and has developed into a reliable run-stopper.
Nnadi got a glowing review from their head coach
Andy Reid praised Nnadi for being an underrated player and the fact he doesn’t get any credit.
“(Derrick) Nnadi gets no credit. I don’t think he wants the credit, but he doesn’t get any credit, but he’s a stellar player inside.”
Kansas City has solid starters and backups along the defensive line
The defensive line is loaded with talent heading into next season. The starters (for now) include George Karlaftis, Chris Jones, Derrick Nnadi, and Charles Omenihu, and the four backups include Malik Herring, Mike Pennell, Tershawn Wharton, and Felix Anudike-Uzomah.
Will they three-peat next season?
