Kansas City Chiefs star receiver Rashee Rice has turned himself in.
According to Dallas Fox News, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has turned himself in to police after an arrest warrant was issued for him for his role in a multi-car crash last month.
According to online records, Rice turned himself in to the Glenn Heights Police Department on Thursday and was taken to the DeSoto jail.
Rice has already posted bail, according to Josina Anderson.
I'm told #Chiefs WR Rashee Rice has posted bond and is already released from Glenn Heights Jail of the Dallas, TX greater-area, per source.
Rice now awaits the remainder of his legal process, as well as potential discipline from the NFL and/or Kansas City. pic.twitter.com/uqCH01erI0

Recap of Rice’s Incident
According to the Dallas Morning News, “A vehicle believed to be registered or leased to Rice was involved in a crash on North Central Expressway at about 6:20 p.m. Royce West, Rashee Rice’s lawyer, said he would handle his responsibilities regarding the car accident; enforcement officials said that police are looking for Rice, and a police call sheet obtained by The News confirmed that law enforcement officials were searching for him in connection with the accident.”
Later, it was found that Rice was also in possession of nearly an ounce of marijuana (10.8g), which was found in the Super Bowl winner’s car after the accident. However, this amount would only qualify in Texas as essentially the lowest level misdemeanor possible.
Rashee Rice faces eight total charges, 7 of which are counts towards collision and the final of which pertains to aggravated assault.
Rashee Rice Lawyer Previous Statement
Rice’s Lawyer, Royce West, made statements after Rice initially turned himself in.
Attorney West held a press conference about the incident. He said, “Mr. Rice is going to everything within his power to bring their lives back to as normal as possible regarding injuries and property damage.”
Shortly after, it was found that the car registered in Rice’s name had 10.8g of marijuana within it.
Kansas City Chiefs Pending Allegations
There is no word on what Kansas City will do in light of Rice’s troubles. Surely, the league and the team will hand out punitive measures. The legal process will have to pan out before any suspension is given.
In her tweet above, Josina references that Rice is awaiting the formal legal process and “potential discipline” from the Chiefs/NFL.
Although players have gotten into similar situations as Rice, none have been as public or as serious. It will be interesting to see the outcome after the legal process takes place.
SMU Teammate Suspended
According to Gridiron Heroics, one of the details is that the other driver involved in the multi-car crash was SMU Mustangs cornerback Theodore “Teddy” Knox. The football program suspended Teddy, and a warrant was also issued for him.
Both Teddy Knox and Rashee Rice are charged with six counts of collision involving bodily injury, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, and one count of aggravated assault. This crash resulted in two people being hospitalized.
