The Kansas City Chiefs recently won Super Bowl LVIII. Because of this, the people of Kansas City gathered to celebrate that victory together this past Wednesday. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a celebration quickly turned into a tragedy.
That is because there was a shooting near the end of the parade. This shooting resulted in one person being killed and 22 others wounded. Two of them included young children. Now, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes decided to take action after these unfortunate events.
Patrick Mahomes Visits Young Gunshot Victims
There are two young girls that are eight and 10 years old who ended up in the hospital due to gunshots fired at the Super Bowl parade. Patrick Mahomes found out about this and ended up taking action. He and Brittany Mahomes ended up visiting these two young girls in the hospital to cheer them up. This is according to Malik Jackson of FOX4 Kansas City.
Kansas City Chiefs Moving Forward
Understandably, this tragic event has the hearts and minds of not only Kansas City Chiefs players but the entire nation. A few days ago, Mahomes released a statement, saying that he is “praying for Kansas City.”
Before all of this happened, the future looked bright for Mahomes and the Chiefs. In 2024, they will attempt to win their third straight Super Bowl. If the Chiefs do win again, some people may begin to wonder if the parade will end up operating the same way.
With that said, one thing is clear. Mahomes and several other Chiefs players are willing to step up when needed most. On top of this, they continue to make lifetime memories for Chiefs fans.
