The suspects in the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade shooting last Wednesday have been charged with crimes, according to the latest updates on the incident.
There were three suspects arrested in the wake of the tragic attack, but only two have been charged while the other one was released after it was determined that the said person wasn’t involved in the shooting. Both suspects are juveniles.
Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl Parade Shooting Suspects Charged
According to the news release from the Jackson County Family Court, the juveniles have been charged on Thursday and are currently being held in the Juvenile Detention Center of the county. They are detained on “gun-related and resisting arrest charges,” though “additional charges” are expected to come in the future as the investigation continues.
The suspects remain unnamed and specific details of the case have not been released to the public. which is not surprising since Juvenile court cases are often kept private and confidential under Missouri law. Not to mention that the hearings are not open to the public, as ESPN noted.
In a further statement, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker promised that they will stay in close coordination with authorities as investigation on the tragedy continues.
“We regularly work with juvenile court officers on cases and we have worked with them on this case as well. Though we do not oversee or supervise the juvenile officers, we work closely with them,” Baker shared.
“We expect to be at future hearings regarding theses individuals who were charged today in Family Court. We will continue to work closely with all authorities as the investigation continues. We are grateful for the collaboration and partnership with these juvenile officers. And we will continue to work closely with the police investigative team overseeing their investigation of this mass shooting.”

The Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade shooting led to the death of one person and injury to 22 others, several of which are children.
According to the aforementioned ESPN report, the deceased is a mother a known disc jockey. Two more people remain in critical condition, while one other is in serious condition.
On the other hand, many of the injured children have been released from hospital and are largely expected to recover.
More updates on the investigation of the attack should be released soon. For now, Kansas City continues to mourn the lost of an innocent life. Several fans and Chiefs players like Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes continue to show support to the victims and unite to assist everyone who has been affected by to the heartbreaking situation.
