The Kansas City Chiefs and their fans have had an emotional few days. Kansas City went from the highest of highs celebrating Super Bowl LVIII to the lowest of lows with the shooting that took place during the parade. As a result, it has left at least 23 people and their families impacted. Now, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has announced the next step to address this horrific act.

Earlier today, Patrick Mahomes tweeted that the Kansas City Chiefs and United Way of Greater Kansas City were starting a charity called #KCStrong. The goal of the charity is to raise money for victims of the shooting along with their families. On top of this, the charity hopes to bring awareness to mental health issues as well as provide financial support for first responders in the Kansas City area.

As mentioned above, it has been a bit of a roller coaster for Kansas City. However, the announcement of this charity shows that the organization and its star player are willing to do what they can to give back to Kansas City when the area needs it most. For now, the Chiefs and their fans stand together to get past this horrific event. Then, the Chiefs will attempt to win their third straight Super Bowl title in the 2024 NFL season.
