Dallas Mavericks and NBA superstar Luka Doncic didn’t hold back his praise for Patrick Mahomes after the quarterback led the Kansas City Chiefs to Super Bowl 58 victory on Sunday.
Doncic didn’t have to say any word, though, as one emoji was enough to express his thoughts on the NFL superstar.
For Luka Donic, Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes is the GOAT
Mahomes propelled the Chiefs to the 25-22 overtime victory over the 49ers in their Super Bowl showdown, giving the 28-year-old quarterback his third title over the last five years. Kansas City also became the first team since the 2004 and 2005 New England Patriots to win back-to-back championships.
Making things even better, the Chiefs trailed by as much as 10 points in the game, but Mahomes was just too much for the 49ers. After forcing overtime, Mahomes made sure they get the job done for the victory.
In the aftermath of the contest, Doncic quickly took to social media to express how much he’s in awe of Mahomes. He simply shared a goat emoji (to indicated Greatest Of All Time) while tagging Mahomes on X (formerly Twitter).

Mahomes is from Texas and is a huge Mavericks fan, and he’s been spotted watching Dallas games multiple times. He has built a relationship with Doncic over the years, so the Mavs guard may have some bias here.
Still, there’s no denying that Mahomes now has a case to be the GOAT of the sport, especially with the dominance he has shown over the years. Again, Mahomes is only 28 and should still have at least a decade more in the league. Imagine how many more rings he can win during that span.
Some might say it’s still too early to call him the goat, but as Doncic hinted, he’s already seeing greatness from the superstar QB.
More NBA Stars React to Kansas City Chiefs’ Win
For what it’s worth, Luka Doncic is not the only NBA player who praised Patrick Mahomes following the Super Bowl.
The likes of Damian Lillard, Alex Caruso, Patrick Beverley and many more former and current players took to social media to either give Mahomes and the Chiefs their flowers, or express admiration for both teams for playing an intense showdown.

P Mahomes will become the goat soon, it’s guaranteed. Congrats Chiefs. #SuperBowl2024

Great game. We were definitely entertained. Congrats to the chiefs.

Mahomes and the Chiefs deserve all the praise they are getting, though. It’s hard enough to win a Super Bowl, but to do it in back-to-back years? Kansas City should be given more credit for sure.
