The Kansas City Chiefs playing the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs is quickly becoming an annual event, with the two AFC juggernauts squaring off three of the last four seasons. The contests are always satisfying, with the previous two games coming down to the final minutes. However, last Sunday’s clash, a 27-24 Chiefs win, made viewership history. Per NFL insider Ari Meirov, CBS announced that Sunday’s Chiefs against Bills game was the most–watched Divisional Round match in history, with a staggering 50.393 million viewers.

The presence of Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift certainly helped the viewership peak. The American singer-songwriter currently dates Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The older Kelce, Jason, was also in attendance, making headlines for his off-the-field antics, like drinking beers shirtless with the fans.
Kansas City Chiefs: Take Down Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park
Kansas City entered Buffalo as a field goal underdog but escaped with a 27-24 win. Superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes tossed two touchdown passes to tight end Travis Kelce, setting the record for most touchdowns by any QB-receiver duo in NFL history (16). Buffalo had ample opportunities to take the lead late, but a dropped 60-yard bomb from wideout Stefon Diggs and a missed field goal from Tyler Bass sunk the Bills. Diggs’ recent struggles are well documented, with the Pro-Bowler catching just three of eight targets for 21 yards.
Meanwhile, Mahomes played great, finishing the night 17 of 23 for 215 yards and two touchdowns. The Chiefs also got plenty of production from their running backs. Lead rusher Isiah Pacheco powered the offense, rushing 15 times for 97 yards and a touchdown. He also caught his lone target for 14 yards. Backup Clyde Edwards-Helaire also made the most out of his opportunities, taking his two rush attempts for 31 yards.
Kansas City Chiefs: Face Baltimore Ravens in AFC Championship
The Chiefs will again be a field goal underdog in the postseason, this time against the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship. Baltimore posted a 13-4 record this season, the best in the NFL. They dominated the Houston Texans last weekend’s playoff game, beating them 34-10. Their top-ranked defense held Houston rookie sensation C.J. Stroud to only 175 yards passing and no touchdowns. Meanwhile, Ravens dual-threat quarterback Lamar Jackson passed for 152 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 11 times for 100 yards and another two scores. He remains the favorite to win the NFL MVP.
