The Kansas City Chiefs have gotten back on track this season after their Week One loss to the Detroit Lions. Since that loss the Chiefs beat the Jacksonville Jaguars and absolutely embarrassed the Chicago Bears. While the Chiefs remain one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl this year, their offense has sputtered at times without Travis Kelce.
One more all-pro added to this offense could catapult their offense back into the Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce days. That is exactly what one reporter expects them to do.
The Kansas City Chiefs Land All-Pro Wide Receiver Davante Adams In Huge Trade Proposal
Ryan Fowler of Bleacher Report highlighted exactly what this trade would do:
Help at the wide receiver spot has been a need in Kansas City since Tyreek Hill was traded to Miami in March 2022.
Skyy Moore, Rashee Rice and Justin Watson have taken advantage of their targets, but Adams is in a completely different stratosphere of talent at the wideout position.
Travis Kelce draws eyes at the tight end spot. With the insertion of Adams on the perimeter, not only would Patrick Mahomes have another future Hall of Famer to throw to, but his presence alone would give Kelce more one-on-one matchups.
The Chiefs seemingly traded Hill because they couldn’t afford him, but their reported offseason interest in DeAndre Hopkins suggests they could be ready to spend big on a WR1.
To say the Raiders deciding to trade Jones would be shocking, would be an understatement. We are just one off-season removed from the Raiders giving up premium draft capital to go get him. Even though the Raiders are sitting at 1-2, they still haven’t given up hope on the season. There have been bright spots to build off of, but the schedule doesn’t get any easier for them.
The Raiders still have to play the Chiefs twice, the Chargers twice, and the Dolphins this season. The only way the Raiders trade away Adams is if the front office decides between now and the trade deadline that a full rebuild is necessary. Even still, the asking price for Adams would be extremely high and we’re not sure if the Chiefs (or anyone else) would be willing to commit those resources to a 30-year-old wide receiver.
