Florida State is going to face significant adversity on its road to the College Football Playoff this year after news about Jordan Travis came out Monday.
Per a statement released on Travis’ X account, the Seminoles quarterback Jordan Travis announced his college career was over following the leg injury he sustained against North Alabama on Saturday. Travis said the school’s job wasn’t done this season:
“I truly cannot thank everyone enough for the many thoughts, prayers and messages that have been sent my way. I have been overwhelmed by the support from my teammates, coaches, the Florida State community and those all around the world.
Although the injury I sustained on November 18th, 2023, marks the end of my Seminole playing career, the great memories created here at FSU will never fade. Being the quarterback here at Florida State University has been a dream come true. I am humbled, honored and forever grateful.
The journey this team set out on is not over yet as all of our goals still lie just ahead. I am excited to be by my brothers’ sides every day as we continue our attack. We’re all we got, we’re all we need. Job’s not finished. Go Noles!”

Florida State fans react to Travis’ announcement
The injury is unfortunate for the fourth-ranked Seminoles team. They’re undefeated and had a great chance of making the College Football Playoff if they won out. Unfortunately, they’ll have to face Florida next week and Louisville in the ACC Championship Game the next week without Travis.
That means their playoff chances have taken a major hit without their starting quarterback. Fans took to social media to react to Travis’ announcement. Here are the best takes on Travis announcing his time playing college football is over.
Thank you for your contributions as an all-time FSU talent! Recovery phase, and focusing on the rest of your life in a continuous journey. Prepared to follow your inevitable journey in the NFL.
Now, we rally around Tate, and #FinishFor13, it ain't over til it's over.

An undefeated FSU is in the Playoff. I don’t care what the Committee thinks about their QB. pic.twitter.com/eqoGrGLK53
