The Buffalo Bills will be without a key player in their secondary in Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins. The Bills defense will try and tame a Dolphins offense that put up 70 points on the Denver Broncos in Week 3–without starting wide receiver Jayen Waddle.
Waddle is back this week.
Buffalo Bills: Jordan Poyer won’t play the Miami Dolphins
According to a statement by the Bills, safety Jordan Poyer has been ruled out against the Dolphins with a knee injury:
“Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Friday on WGR550 that safety Jordan Poyer will be OUT for Sunday’s game against Miami due to a knee injury.
Poyer did not practice Wednesday or Thursday this week. He will not practice on Friday afternoon.”

Poyer’s injury is a significant injury for the Bills defense. The Bills’ secondary is taking on one of the hottest offenses in the league to start the season.
The Bills will likely ask Taylor Rapp to step up to play for Poyer this week. Rapp is a 2019 second-round pick by the Los Angeles Rams, who signed with the Bills this offseason.
The Miami Dolphins are walking into the game confident
The Dolphins offense feels confident about their matchup with the Bills after their thrashing of Sean Payton’s Broncos in Week 3. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill took a subtle shot at Bills fans this week.
They’re not scared of the Bills.
And they shouldn’t be until the Bills defense can create stops. The Dolphins look like the league’s best team right now.
One good piece of news for the Bills defense: Edge rusher Leonard Floyd is expected to play the Dolphins. If Floyd and the pass rush can get pressure on Tua Tagovailoa, they’ll have a chance to keep the game competitive if Josh Allen can lead the offense on touchdown drives.
