There are now two NFL insiders that foresee a world in which both legendary Bill Belichick and Dallas Cowboys current quarterback Dak Prescott team up in 2025.
While we have seen numerous other quarterbacks get paid, Dak is set to become a free agent next offseason. Dallas and Prescott could definitely get a deal done before then, but that seems less likely by the day.
NFL Insiders See A Bill Belichick, Dak Prescott Team Up Coming
While Dak’s contract situation continues, Bill Belichick will be watching on the TV like the rest of us. Belichick will not be coaching for the first time in 50 years after his tenure with the New England Patriots has come to end. Both NFL insiders Nick Wright and Colin Cowherd are theorizing that the two could team up in 2025.
The two insiders shared there backing for this theory on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” on Tuesday. Wright brought up that is must be on the table for both Belichick and Prescott to land with the New York Giants as a “package deal” in 2025. This would shake the NFC East and the NFC as a whole in a major way.
“I think Bill and Dak could go and you could remake an entire organization, head coach and quarterback, a year from now with Dak Prescott the free agent and Bill Belichick the head coach and I think the New York Giants are very viable possibility there,” Wright said. “So just put that out there. Not really a conspiracy theory, just a long-term prediction.”
This is a very long term prediction but one that seems some what plausible. Belichick has a connection with the team, and the Giants may be in deep quarterback trouble in a years time.
Would The New York Giants Bring In Both?
Bill Belichick has a long time connection with the Giants and has won two super bowls with the team. He was the teams former defensive coordinator and has always been vocal about his ties to the historic franchise. It was reported earlier last month that Belichick is taking a break from coaching this season with hopes of coming back next offseason.
It was reported that the Giants, Cowboys, and Eagles were all at the top of Belichicks list. Depending on how the season for each of those teams go, they may all be interested in Belichick next offseason. As for New York, they may get into big trouble this year with their quarterback situation.
They gave tons of money to Daniel Jones, and he has so far not panned out the way the team has wanted. They are clearly sticking with Jones this year as they did not draft a quarterback with their top pick as many analysts thought they may have.
Prescott would be costly but he would instantly stabilize the Giants entire team. With Belichick and Prescott at the helm, the team would become real contenders.
It is also highly feasible that the two pair up in Dallas as opposed to New York, as it does seem that Mike McCarthy is on somewhat thin ice after the embarrassment Dallas had in the playoffs. Jerry Jones has always spoke highly of Belichick, so we may see the legendary coach in the NFC East next season.
