Jim Harbaugh is off to the NFL after leaving the Michigan Wolverines. The Los Angeles Chargers job was too tempting, and Harbaugh decided to make the jump. However, he still cares deeply about what happens to the program. In a recent interview, he revealed who he wants to be the next head coach of the Wolverines.
Jim Harbaugh On Who Should Coach The Michigan Wolverines
Jim Harbaugh pushes for Michigan to promote Sherrone Moore to head coach:
“I’ll always be a loyal Wolverine. But not a better man to coach the team than Sherrone Moore.
He has my vote, my support wholeheartedly. I feel like it’s in great hands.”

The answer shouldn’t surprise people. Since the announcement happened, offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore has been the favorite. Harbaugh thinks he would be a great fit.
“I’ll always be a loyal Wolverine. But not a better man to coach the team than Sherrone Moore. He has my vote, my support wholeheartedly. I feel like it’s in great hands.”
Harbaugh thinks it would be a seamless transition and would set the program up for success for years to come. It isn’t hard to see why Moore is the favorite amongst many fans and analysts.
Regular Season Audition
Moore had to take over on short notice before the game against Penn State. The Big Ten surprised the team with the Harbaugh suspension, and Moore was thrust into the head coach position. He won handily on the road. In the next two games, he helped the Wolverines beat Maryland and hated rival Ohio State. Michigan got the opportunity to see him in action. Interviews can only tell you so much, but the university knows what they are getting in Moore.
Will it be a seamless transition from Jim Harbaugh to Sherrone Moore? It will be interesting to see whether Michigan can stay in the national conversation after losing so many pieces.
