Jaylon Johnson is approaching the end of a contract season with the Chicago Bears.
The former Utah star and lockdown corner in the Bears’ secondary told reporters on Wednesday that he would “love to stay here” if the team were to make him a good offer in the next few months.
Bears CB Jaylon Johnson says if the team made him a good offer in the next few months, he would take it and not be interested in testing the market as a free agent: "I want to stay here… I would love to stay here.”

As you can see, Johnson also told reporters that if the offer was strong enough to his liking he would not be interested in testing the market as a free agent.
Jaylon Johnson’s Value Has Skyrocketed
Johnson has been one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL this season, especially so across the last few weeks. The fourth-year man has earned an extension through the eyes of many Chicago fans by totaling 31 tackles with four interceptions and one pass deflection. Prior to this season, Johnson had never finished a year with more than 1 interception.
For Bears GM Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus, it’s hard to ignore these numbers. Johnson has played like he deserves an extension this season. And locking Johnson down for the next few years as a veteran presence in the secondary would be huge, especially considering the leaps and bounds the Bears’ defense has taken from Week 1 to now.
