Last week, Pro Bowler and Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce announced that he was officially stepping away from the game. However, like many players who spend the first 35+ years of their lives working their butts off constantly to stay in the best shape possible, suddenly having nothing to do gets boring. For many players, this takes a few months or even years to figure out, but ultimately, it often ends in the former player looking for another job to help them stay busy.
For Jason, it may have only taken one week.
History Channel Offers Jason and Travis Kelce
Following Jason Kelce’s announcement that he would be stepping away from the NFL, the History Channel reached out to him and his brother in an X post that is going viral. In the video, Doug Marcaida, the host of Forged in Fire, invited the two to join the show and compete.
“Hi Jason, Dough Marcaida here from Forged in Fire… congratulations on a historic NFL career and well deserved retrirement.
Now, we’ve heard that you might have what it takes to make it keal…battle it off outside of the field” and learn how to be “master blade smiths.”
The Kelce brothers certainly look like the kind of guys who would find out in the middle of the forest doing outdoor activities such as camping, hunting, knife throwing, and building a shelter. There isn’t much information about whether they enjoy being outdoors during their free time, but we do know that Travis is big into fishing, and Jason has been vocal about growing up with his brothers and always hanging out with them outdoors, although it hasn’t been specified what activities they actually did outside of sports.

Jason Kelce Seems Legitament Interested
Famous athletes always get shout-outs and invitations, but this one is very different because Jason seems excited about it. Rather than ignoring, liking, or leaving a simple reply, he retweeted the invite and added to his own caption that said the following:
“This is the coolest thing ever, it would be a dream come true Doug! Even if it doesn’t Keel! But I definetly want to.”
Again, putting this out makes it appear that Jason does want to compete, and it isn’t crazy to believe that he may end up wanting to join the program as either a part-time or full-time member. Both he and his brother are not shy around cameras and even co-host their own podcast already.
The brothers are made for TV with their outspoken personalities and mannerisms, and the History Channel, in a weird way, makes a lot more sense than seeing him in a suit doing sports broadcasting, which is what many former athletes end up doing after their playing days are over.
Travis Kelce has not yet commented on whether he would share the same interest once he retires, but we do know the two brothers are very close, suggesting if Jason is interested, he may be down for trying it out regardless.
This is the coolest thing ever, it would literally be a dream come true Doug! Even if it doesn’t Keel! But I definitely want it too https://t.co/TtZoZdz2TK
