It’s been a busy offseason for headlines between law enforcement and the Chiefs. Several Chiefs players have been arrested since the team won the Super Bowl in February. Wanya Morris and offensive tackle Chukwuebuka Godrick were arrested for alleged marijuana possession. Rashee Rice was arrested following a high-speed crash on Easter weekend.

As previously discussed on GH, defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs turned himself in to the police in May in relation to an alleged animal cruelty case. He faces two misdemeanor charges. Buggs’ agent Trey Robinson is claiming the city of Tuscaloosa and the police department have been in a “campaign” to force the former Alabama star to close his Hookah lounge:
“Isaiah vehemently denies the truthfulness of the allegations and charges asserted against him today. Under no circumstance does Mr. Buggs condone the mistreatment of any animal. The dogs at issue did not belong to him and he was unaware they remained at the property in question.”
Furthermore, we believe the City of Tuscaloosa’s decision to file the charges today is part of a concerted effort by the City of Tuscaloosa and its Police Department to besmirch Mr. Buggs’ name and reputation as part of an on-going subversive campaign to force the close of his local business Kings Hookah Lounge.

“Tuscaloosa County Jail records show former Tide defensive lineman and Kansas City Chief Isaiah Buggs was arrested for burglary on Sunday.
The charge is domestic violence second degree – burglary.”
Phillips claims there will be more details coming shortly.
Buggs and the Chiefs wrapped up mandatory minicamp last week. Buggs signed with the Chiefs practice squad in January. He signed a reserve/futures deal with the Chiefs in January. Buggs appeared in 10 games and started in three games with the Detroit Lions last season.
