Per multiple reports, Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs turned himself in to Tuscaloosa police Thursday. Buggs is facing allegations of animal cruelty.
A Kansas City Chiefs DL is accused of animal cruelty

As previously discussed on GH, a police report accuses Buggs of leaving two dogs abandoned at a residence he vacated earlier in the month. The dogs were found by authorities in poor condition, with no access to food or water.
The dogs were seized with the police report stating they had been “malnourished, emaciated, and neglected. One of the dogs was later euthanized after becoming aggressive and failing a heartworm treatment.
Buggs’ agent responded to the claims on Wednesday

Bugg’s agent responded to the claims on Wednesday, claiming that the city and police were trying to force Buggs to close his hookah lounge:
“Isaiah vehemently denies the truthfulness of the allegations and charges asserted against him today. Under no circumstance does Mr. Buggs condone the mistreatment of any animal. The dogs at issue did not belong to him and he was unaware they remained at the property in question.”
Furthermore, we believe the City of Tuscaloosa’s decision to file the charges today is part of a concerted effort by the City of Tuscaloosa and its Police Department to besmirch Mr. Buggs’ name and reputation as part of an on-going subversive campaign to force the close of his local business Kings Hookah Lounge.
Buggs was arrested and released on Thursday

According to an article by ESPN, Buggs, a former Alabama football standout, turned himself into the Tuscaloosa County Jail on Thursday. He has since been released:
A Tuscaloosa Police Department spokesperson confirmed that Buggs surrendered at the jail Thursday, a day after two misdemeanor warrants were filed against him.
Buggs was booked and released on $600 bond and faces a court hearing on June 13. He refused a reporter’s question while leaving the jail and getting into a truck.
According to the article, the Chiefs are aware of Buggs’s situation but are not commenting further at this time.
