Late in the second quarter, Brents laid the wood on Steelers lead back Najee Harris. Brents came down from his corner position, making a textbook tackle against the Pittsburgh rusher. The refs did not throw a flag on the play. However, the league and Roger Goodell continue to crack down on defenders leading with their helmets to make tackles.
Indianapolis Colts CB JuJu Brents: Second Round Pick in 2023 NFL Draft
Brents, the 44th overall pick in last year’s NFL draft, starred for the Kansas State Wildcats in 2022. He tallied 45 tackles, four interceptions, and 3.5 TFLs while earning first-team All-Big 12 honors in his final college season. Brents has dealt with a quad injury this season, playing only six games for the Indianapolis Colts during his rookie campaign. He has registered 28 tackles, three passes defended, an interception, a fumble forced, and a fumble recovery. Brents picked off Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence in mid-October while also collecting seven tackles and two passes defended.
