The Houston Texans are likely out one of their top playmakers on Sunday against the red-hot Cincinnati Bengals. Texans standout wide receiver Nico Collins missed practice on Friday, marking his third straight day of inactivity, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston.
On #Texans wide receiver Nico Collins' strained calf. He got hurt against #Buccaneers and it became apparent during warmups Wednesday that he couldn't go, hence the limited designation on injury report, but didn't have any practice time. Now, out Thursday and again today @KPRC2

Collins is the team leader in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. The Texans have also dealt with injuries to fellow offensive skill players Noah Brown, Robert Woods, Tank Dell, and Dameon Pierce.
Nico Collins: Breakout 2023 Campaign
Nico Collins is amid a fantastic 2023 season, posting a career-high 78.9 receiving yards per game through eight contests. Collins, a third-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft, has been quarterback C.J. Stroud’s favorite target, eclipsing 50 targets through Week 9, nearly matching his entire total from last season. Stroud has peppered Collins to excellent efficiency, with the former Michigan wideout playing four games this season with 80 or more receiving yards.
Collins flashed brilliance through his first two NFL seasons, including catching 33 passes for 446 yards and one receiving touchdown as a rookie in 2021. The six-foot-four wideout posted 37 receptions for 481 yards and two touchdowns last year.
Houston Texans: WR Depth Chart
Rookie receiver Tank Dell should slide in as the WR1 for the Houston Texans on Sunday. The speedster has caught four touchdowns this season, including two in last week’s shocking come-from-behind win over the Tampa Bay Buccanneers. Noah Brown and Robert Woods (questionable) could also see a target uptick.
Brown has 14 receptions for 267 yards and one touchdown in four games. He caught 43 passes for 555 yards and three scores for the Dallas Cowboys last season. Meanwhile, Woods has 22 receptions for 227 yards and one score. Quarterback C.J. Stroud has thrown for 2,270 yards, 14 touchdowns, and one interception in eight games, all of which came with Nico Collins active.
