The Houston Texans were led by rookie QB C.J. Stroud this season. Both had a season to remember, with Stroud already getting recognition from the fans. Now, the media is ready to recognize Stroud’s accomplishments as well.
C.J. Stroud Wins AP 2023 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year
The NFL Honors show kicked off with Stroud getting awarded the Offensive Rookie of the Year. He was drafted second overall by the Houston Texans. At the time, there was a big debate as to whether Stroud or Alabama Crimson Tide QB Bryce Young should have been drafted first overall. Well, at the end of Year 1, Stroud stands out as the superior player.
Stroud’s Accomplishments With Houston Texans
So, what did Stroud do with the Texans this season? For starters, he helped lead Houston to an AFC South title after having the second-worst record in the previous season. On top of this, the Texans won a playoff game against the Cleveland Browns.
Stroud also broke multiple records in that first playoff appearance. In the regular season, Stroud had 4,108 passing yards, 23 touchdown passes, and five interceptions. The future looks bright for Stroud and the Texans in 2024.
