Hayden Hurst is ready to work with a rookie quarterback
The Carolina Panthers added a few weapons on offense in free agency. The Panthers, who traded with the Chicago Bears for the number one overall pick, are expected to take a quarterback with their first selection. Former Cincinnati Bengals tight end Hayden Hurst is one of the Panthers’ new pass catchers. Hurst recently explained why he’s happy to work with an inexperienced quarterback, even after playing with Joe Burrow.

According to the Panthers website, Hurst said he likes that his role will be vital to helping a rookie player progress:
“Tight ends are always a quarterback’s best friend,” Hurst said. “Especially (for) a rookie coming in, you want that reliable guy in the middle of the field, where your vision is. Obviously, you need the guys on the outside, too, to make your life easier. But if you can have that reliable guy where you know he’s going to be somewhere within 10 yards or going down the middle of the field, and just put it up, that’s why I came here.”
Hurst will get a chance to put up big numbers with the Panthers. He had a lot of previous pass-catching competition with the Bengals.
