Grover Stewart has been one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL. Stewart currently has 141 tackles and 3 sacks. Additionally, Stewart is the only defensive tackle with 50-plus tackles, 3-plus sacks, and 8-plus tackles for loss. Stewart has accumulated 138 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery during his career.
Grover Stewart is a great run-stuffer who can shed blocks and make tackles. Stewart has 14 tackles for loss against the run and 36 total tackles against the run. The numbers are impressive because defensive tackles have to work hard to stop the run. The NFL has great running backs and it isn’t easy to stop running games. Room for improvement
Grover Stewart has made strides during his career and can get better. Defensive tackles don’t get a lot of sacks because of their position. Stewart has to improve his pass-rushing skills. Pass rushing is valued in the NFL. Defenses pride themselves on getting to the quarterback. If Stewart can work on his pass rushing and get more sacks he could be considered the best defensive tackle in the NFL.
