The Green Bay Packers completed the win against the Chicago Bears to make the playoffs in Jordan Love’s first season with the team. They will play the Dallas Cowboys in their first game of the post season and many are thinking that will be much closer than people think.
Star defensive Packers player Preston Smith took to X, formerly known as Twitter to take shots at the Bears. He wrote on X saying:
“We just don’t lose to the Bears…. I’m 12-0”
What can you even say back to that? As Jordan Love has picked up right where Aaron Rodgers left off when it comes to playing the Bears. The Packers just own the Bears, they simply do not lose. They will now have a playoff game and Jordan Love is clearly the franchise guy going forward.
Green Bay Packers Continue to Own The Chicago Bears
After the huge win against the Bears, Green Bay players brought out victory cigars and were lighting them up in the locker room as they are now playoff bound. Standout cornerback Jaire Alexander, who returned to the field on Sunday following a one-game suspension, was seen with a cigar behind his ear in his post game press conference and said:
“It was fun,” Alexander said of the celebration. “It smells like a casino right now.”

While Jordan Love had many haters in the beginning of the year, he is getting the respect he deserves now with a stellar rookie first year as a starter. Even if they are one and done in the playoffs, there is a lot to look forward to with this young and talented team going forward. With youth and talent in all different positions this team will be competing for their division going forward. This season has been something to build on and you can’t ask for a better start to Love’s career as a starter.
Preston Smith and the team can continue to celebrate owning the Bears, but they have a quick turn around for the playoffs now and if they can just win the first game, who knows how far they can go. Either way they are on the upward trajectory in their first season from moving off of legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers and sadly for Bears fans, Jordan Love is here to stay!
