Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love of the is now officially a franchise quarterback in the NFL. Love is coming off a great game, arguably his best against the Minnesota Vikings last night, and he was given a 90.8 grade (elite) by Pro Football Focus for his performance.
Back in the beginning of the season Love struggled to put together consistent drives and consistent games, and now has made a big turn around playing great football the last few weeks, it seems like he has found his stride and figured something out. In the 33-10 route the Packers put on the Vikings, Love finished the game with 256 yards and 3 touchdowns. It was not just the stats he put up but the way he controlled the game and got everyone involved. The game was not close so he did not need to continue to push the ball downfield.
Green Bay Packers Players Get Elite Scores By PFF
Jayden Reed had the best PFF score on the night for the Packers getting an elite score of 92.7. Reed has benefited majorly from Love’s great play as of late making both of them up and coming young players to watch. No one would have guessed in the beginning of the year that this Packers team would be making a playoff push in the first season without legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Bo Melton and Aaron Jones also came out with very high scores, receiving 89.5 and 83.6 respectively. This is a great look for the Packers that I’m sure has many fans happy that they just may have another franchise quarterback on their hands. That does not mean that love can come close to the greatness of Brett Favre or Rodgers, but it does mean that while many other teams are having major quarterback issues, the Packers may have their guy for years to come.
The Packers have a huge came coming up as they are in the 7th seed in playoff standing right now and would make the playoffs. They will face the Chicago Bears with their season on the line. This is a playoff game for them and the first major pressure situation we will see Love go through. If Love can get the Packers to the playoffs in his first year as a starter that would be a dream come true for Packers’ fans that they have their franchise guy.
