The Georgia football program will have a crack at one of the newest members of the SEC, the Texas Longhorns, next weekend on the road in Austin. However, on Saturday, Georgia must first beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs at home as 34-point favorites. With the Bulldogs likely winning on Saturday, Kirby Smart’s team will head into their matchup against Texas with a 5-1 record and a spot near the top of the AP Poll.
Meanwhile, Texas will either sport an undefeated record and hold the No. 1 ranking in the country or enter next Saturday’s mashup at an identical 5-1 record. Nevertheless, despite Georgia football losing two regular season games in a year just once since 2017, it will open as a near-field goal underdog against Texas. Although it was a tough matchup, the Georgia faithful expect a win on the road against the old Big 12 team.
Fans Flabbergasted With Georgia Football Being an Underdog vs UT
According to On3 on Twitter:
Texas opens as a 2.5-point favorite over Georgia at home next weekend, per @FDSportsbook
Who you got?
Georgia football has not lost two regular season games in the same year since COVID-19 impacted the 2020 season. Conversely, the Texas Longhorns have lost at least two regular season games yearly since 2009 sans the 2023 campaign. However, with Texas’ hot start and Georgia already losing to Alabama in a thriller earlier this season, the Bulldogs will be 2.5 points underdogs against the Steve Sarkisian-led team next weekend.
Georgia has yet to play the underdog role this season, including on the road against the Alabama Crimson Tide in late September. The last time Georiga football was the underdog happened in 2021 against the Clemson Tigers at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Although the SEC tilt will likely feature an epic back-and-forth, Georgia football fans expect a victory on the road against UT:
That won’t end well. Kirby will those boys convinced they are a bottom of the SEC Vanderbilt team by next Saturday. Look out.
