Alabama Football: Jalen Milroe Soars PFF Rankings Following Epic 4-Touchdown Performance Against Georgia

The Alabama football program is 9-1 against the Georgia Bulldogs since 2008. On Saturday, the Alabama Crimson Tide made it back-to-back wins against Georgia with a fantastic 41-34 victory against their archrival. In the win, Heisman Trophy hopeful quarterback Jalen Milroe starred for the Crimson Tide, going 27-of-33 for a career-high 374 yards and two touchdowns. He also added 117 rushing yards and a pair of scores. Following Saturday’s massive college football slate, Milroe emerged as one of the most efficient passers to take the field in Week 5.

Pro Football Focus (PFF), a sports analytics company that gives detailed grades to college football players through data collection, applauded Milroe for his standout performance, placing him as a top-five passer for last weekend’s outing.

After the dust settled on Week 5 of the college football season, only two SEC quarterbacks placed among the top ten graded PFF signal-callers: Texas Longhorns gunslinger Arch Manning and Alabama football’s Jalen Milroe. On Saturday, Milroe and the Alabama Crimson Tide battled the Georgia Bulldogs in a matchup of two top-five teams. Alabama jumped out to a four-touchdown lead, with the Crimson Tide holding a 28-0 lead early into the second quarter. Milroe rushed for two scores while passing for another.

Unfortunately for the well-being of the Crimson Tide faithful, Georgia stormed back with a 35-5 run, taking a one-point lead with just under three minutes remaining. Milroe put his stamp on the rivalry game in the second to last offensive drive for the Tide, hurling a 75-yard touchdown pass to budding superstar Ryan Williams. Georgia’s Carson Beck threw an interception in the opposing endzone in the ensuing drive.
