The Georgia Bulldogs continue to thrive on the recruiting trail under head coach Kirby Smart.
Even in the new era of college football, Smart has been able to consistently land — and often keep — some of the nations top talent.
It’s been an offseason of change for many teams across the SEC, but Kirby Smart will lead the Georgia Bulldogs for the ninth consecutive season. Smart has led the Bulldogs to 13 or more victories in the last three seasons, which has resulted in two national championships. The Bulldogs have been able to stack up wins and accolades thanks to their dominant success on the Georgia football recruiting trail.
Smart and the Bulldogs landed the No. 1 ranked recruiting class in 2024 according to 247Sports. However, Georgia has ground to gain with the Class of 2025 as it is currently ranked No. 8, with just five commits so far.
But in typical UGA fashion, Smart and his staff struck big again on Saturday landing a commitment from one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 class.
Georgia Bulldogs Land Commitment From 4-Star Highly Touted QB Jared Curtis
Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs landed an official commitment from Curtis on Saturday. The Nashville native had offered from Ohio State, Alabama and Tennessee and many recruiting experts believed he would be heading to Columbus.
A big-armed quarterback prospect with some moxie. Owns a favorable build having measured roughly 6-foot-3, 215 pounds as a 9th grader. Started football career off playing running back before getting a look under center. Instantly found success at his new position, earning Mr. Football runner-up honors in Tennessee after a freshman campaign in which he won 10 games and totaled just over 2,750 yards of offense.
According to the scouting report from 247 Sports, Jared Curtis is not afraid to dial up the deep ball and tends to connect on plenty of vertical shots. Also excels at hitting timing-based breaking routes over the middle. Shouldn’t be classified as a true dual-treat talent, but can move the chains with his legs and work off-script when the pocket collapses.
His camp footage shows both pace and touch. Must keep developing and learn how to read the complex defenses he will face at the next level, but looks like one of the top signal callers early on in the 2026 cycle. Likely to find success in a variety of different offensive systems given his well-rounded skill set.
This all sounds ideal for the Georgia Bulldogs as they have a crowded QB room but plenty of talent to compete to help keep them at the top of the SEC.
In 2023, Jared Curtis led Nashville Christian to the semifinals of Tennessee’s Division II-A playoffs, posting a 6-7 record. He coompleted 180 for 321 pass attempts (56.1%) for 2,522 yards with 25 TD and 9 INT and added another 543 yards as a rusher and 13 TD while averaging 5.4 ypc.
